I suppose I should tell you a bit about myself then!
I'm northern lass living in the East Midlands. I do a lot of work in this area and I am very passionate about putting this area on the map for a place of fantastic art and artists.
I am an actress, I have worked in theatre and in film. I have also done some modelling. In terms of my own work, I do a lot of physical theatre, including clown, mime, dance, puppetry and African story-telling. I also write and perform my own spoken word poetry. I have given workshops on these and I attend workshops in all art form areas as much as I can.
The work I create myself looks at issues of society, mental health, culture and feminism.
I'm always looking to collaborate, to learn new skills or even teach others if I can.
Skills: Workshop Leader, Chorus Dancing, Stage Fighting, Physical Theatre Performing- including clown and mime,some acrobatics and aerial hoop skills. DBS Certificate, driving license.
Other Relevant Experience:
My theatre work dates back from 2011, doing amateur productions in local theatre companies.
During my second year of university I volunteered at my university’s local online radio station- RedShift Radio. Whilst at university, I studied Butoh and Grotowski. I have done physical theatre training with the Fourth Monkey Theatre Company, working with mime and vocal training. I now work freelance as a drama teacher in which I have taught abroad and I also work as a children’s party entertainer. I am currently working on my own physical show ‘Mental’ which looks at mental health issues, as I write and perform my own spoken word. I have delivered workshops on spoken word as well. I am also an associate artist of Gecko Theatre Company. I am also a trustee of Purple Theatre Company.
